Interested in movie to Denmark

by Rebeca Geraldino
(Hamilton, Ontario, Canada)

Hello.

My husband and I are interested in traveling the world with our 1 year old daughter. We're wondering about some things in regards to having a criminal records. Many countries are very strict in regards to criminal pasts and regrettably my husband has one.

What are the chances of getting a PR card and steady employment if you have a criminal record?

We are all Canadians. My daughter and myself were born in Canada. My husband is a Citizen since he was 7.

Please let us know.

Thank you!

I could not give you an honest answer to that since I am not sure if the police or government check on criminal records outside of the EU. I do know that you need to fill out a form that the police use to check if you have any criminal convictions in Denmark when applying for a new job. I was told that they only check for EU records.

If your husband is a fugitive, he will probably be on a database and won't be accepted. If he just has a criminal record that may not be noticed. You will have to apply and see what happens, but remember if he engages in any criminal behavior in Denmark there is a very good chance he will be sent back to Canada and you with him if not a Danish citizen.
