Feeling Unfairly Treated by Private Parking Garage

Hi, we are expats Living in Germany and visited Copenhagen for the first time at Easter and ended up having a bad experience regarding a parking Garage. We bought a valid ticket for 3 days at the Garage across the street from our hotel and my husband placed it in the window and never moved the car till we left. Apparently he did not understand that he had to record the License plate number of the car as at one point he said all info. switched to being only in Danish. He had had to try several credit Cards and did not understand he needed to add the car License number. When we filed a complaint regarding the fine they said that the ticket was not valid as this info. was missing. They checked regularly the area so would have seen immediately when he parked and that he never moved the car. We asked for them to dismiss as we Paid and they said sorry, your mistake, should have asked someone not our Problem. We did not see anyone to ask. It seems so unfair. We have proof of what we Paid on the credit Card with time and date etc and they even sent us a photo of the ticket corretly placed in the car window. It was just that there was a number instead of the License Plate number. They will not talk to you, only via email and I was told when they refuse then they will not look at it again. Do you know who we can contact About this? It is unfair and bad for the Reputation of Copenhagen in my opinion when something like this happens. We Paid like 30 Euros and now they want like 85 as a Penalty as if we did not pay. Any help appreciated. This is like putting a bad Memory in what was a Wonderful trip. It also is something we did not plan in our Budget as it was expensive enough visiting and stayin in this Beautiful City. Thank you, PAmela
