A question!!

First of all, thanks a lot for this informative website. I will be visiting Copenhagen next week and I really need to fully understand the transportation system.
To cleaify my question, let me first quote you: Each ticket has a time limit to it. But you could go up and back on one ticket if you travel within the time frame. In the example you mentioned above,traveling from Kastrup airport to Ishøj, let us assume that the time needed for this journey is 45 minutes. Can I travel on a 2-zone klippekort and klip it just 1 time as long as I will get to my final destination within the time frame, which is one hour?
If I can go up as much as I want within the time frame why do I have to get a 6-zone klippekort??
Am I right in this or I am missing something here? ?!!

Answer: Each ticket has a zone limit and time limit. If you are traveling through 6 zones, you must have a 6 zone ticket (klippekort options are one klip on a 6 zone card, 2 klips on a 3 zone card or 3 klips on a 2 zone card) and the time limit is the same. Your time limit does not multiply. On the back of each klippekort it gives you the time limit. For a 6 zone ticket it is 1.5 hours and you can travel on that ticket for 90 minutes in the 6 zones. Hope that answers your question .. if not .. let me know what confuses you. Better to understand than get an expensive fine.

Thanks for your response. I will give you another example to help you healing my confusion.
Let us assume that I traveled on a 2-zone klippekort from zone 1 to zone 2. And while I am in zone 2, I figured out that I need to travel to zone 3. Can I travel to zone 3 WITHOUT REKLIPPING my klippekort as long as I have enough time on my ticket?? or I have to reklip my klippekort at zone 2?

Answer: You will have to get an additional ticket. If you still have time on your klippekort, just buy a tillægsbillet (single zone ticket) which can be combined with other tickets. You can not buy just a tillægsbillet but can use it to add an additional zone.

Here is another example that makes your scenario possible. If you klip the card in zone 1 and travel to zone 2, the origination zone is zone 1, you can travel to any one zone that connects to zone 1 and zone 2 and zone 3 both border zone 1. The problem is if you are on a bus and you leave from zone 2 go through zone 1 and end up in zone 3, you have traveled in 3 zones and need a 3 zone ticket. If you use a ticket from zone 1 to zone 2 and go back to zone 1, you can not tell you have been in zone 2. If you have time you could use the same ticket from zone 1 to zone 3 if you do not travel via zone 2. A ticket inspector or conductor can not see where you have been except by where you originally stamped your ticket and where you are when he checks. It is a bit of a loophole, but be careful using it. since it technically not legal, but many people do this and I have as well when making short trips.
