Metro Fine

Hi I am a U.K. Resident and I was fined for having an invalid ticket.

I followed the normal process by complaining to 'Metro Kundeservice' who upheld their decision.

I then appealed their decision and complained to 'Ankenaevnet' (Danish Complaints Committee' similar to the ombudsman service in the UK and same response they upheld the decision and still required me to pay 750 DKK.

Anyone reading this who is in a similar situation I advise you NOT to pay 160DKK for your complaint/appeal to be reviewed by Ankenaevnet (see above) as this was a waste of time and money. My case was not dealt with independently and my points were valid but they were ignored. Today I still owe 750DKK.

I have read that it's unlikely anything would happen to me if I didn't pay the fine.....my question is would this still be the case even though I have followed the appeal process?

This blog has been very useful btw so thank you.

It's true that you don't need the passport to cross the borders but, you do need a passport to identify your self to a police officer if they ask you.
