Dec 9, 2012 Public Transportation Prices in Denmark

Denmark's new prime minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt promised to lower public transporation costs, if she won the election. Now a few months later - the prices are going up!

Her party was constantly lambasting the outgoing PM as not being in touch with that problem, but her party was!

On January 17, 2012 there will be a 7.1% overall price increase. Yippee - that is what we were expecting - NOT!

How is this going to help people leave their cars behind and take public transport. It isn't and people are not happy with HTS.

Just another example of politicians mouthing off with campaign promises that they will never enact or ever had any intent of keeping.

Danes are so proud of their voting rate (some of the best turnouts in the world). But why?, when their politicians boldly lie to their constituants.

On top of this fiasco, HT-S is even up on tax evasion charges in regards to her husband and this is who we have in charge of our country? Oh, what is becoming of Denmark?

2012 will be an interesting year. How many other promises will she break before the Danes decide to get rid of her and her party?

Here is a novel solution:
Lower prices = more passengers
Invest in more trains = more happy passengers who can get a seat
Provide better service instead of all the stupid promotional activities = more happy passengers
Make cost of driving more expensive into the city, while lowering ticket prices = more passengers

and guess what?
More passengers = more revenue for DSB.

Why is that concept so hard for DSB and the Social Democrats to grasp?
